Reminder: FACTS Payment Plans
| All tuition payment plans should already be set up with FACTS.
As you will recall from the business office e-mails and letters at the end
of March, CFS is no longer managing student billing internally. All tuition payments go through
FACTS Tuition Management. Families
will continue to pay their tuition bill in one of three ways: - Full Payment Plan: One-time
payment to FACTS due July 1, 2010
- Semi-Annual Payment Plan: Two
payments (60/40) to FACTS due July
1, 2010 and February 1, 2011
- 10-month Payment Plan: Ten
payment to FACTS due monthly May,
2010 through February, 2011
Families
who still have not set up their FACTS accounts - it is critical that you sign
up now so they can begin managing your account. If you have not already set up your payment plan
with FACTS for the 2010-2011 academic year, please do so immediately. The business office WILL be able to manage the addition of
incidental fees, during the course of the year, to your existing FACTS payment plan
for the 2010-2011 school year.
Through FACTS Management's direct debit program,
families authorize automatic bank payments directly from their bank account for
their monthly tuition bill. Please be assured that neither FACTS Management nor
the school will have direct access to or any knowledge about the status of your
bank account. It is simply a pre-authorized bank-to-bank transfer of funds.
If you have not
received an email from FACTS or have any questions about the enrollment process,
please feel free to contact Harriet Hart at ext. 117 h.hart@cfsmass.org or
Chris Rosell at ext.118 c.rosell@cfsmass.org in the Business Office. |
From the School Nurse
| If you have given the school nurse Ilene any medication for you child to keep in her office, please stop by to pick it up before school ends. Thank you.

Books Make Great Appreciation Gifts
Are
you looking for a way to show your appreciation of someone at CFS? Please
consider donating a book. A
great way to show your appreciation for a teacher, administrator, or staff
member is to donate a book in his or her honor to the CFS library. Or, you can
give a book in honor of your child and your family. We create special
bookplates that your child can decorate for the gift book. Come to the library,
call, or e-mail us. Sasha, Ellen, and Ilene can give you suggestions or help
you choose from our selection of gift books.
Summer
Reading Suggestions
Every
year, the librarians put together extensive lists of summer reading
suggestions.We
have four different lists - for beginning, younger, middle, and older readers.
These lists include annotations of new and notable books and listings of the
students', librarians', and teachers' recommendations and all-time favorites.
Reading good books during the summer is one of the best ways for your child to
prepare for the next grade. And it
is fun - you and your child can read together!
The
summer reading lists will be mailed home with the end-of-year reports. You can
also pick one up in the library, and they will also be available on our
website: www.cfsmass.org/curriculum/Library.htm. Happy
reading this summer!
Lost
Library Books
If
you or your child received a notice about an overdue book, please respond
promptly. Please contact us if you have any questions about an overdue notice
or to arrange payment for a lost book. Thank you.

SUPPLIES FOR HAITI NEEDED
|
The Family Association's Family Service Committee (FSC) encourages CFS families to contribute supplies destined for Partners in Health clinics in Haiti. A local family collects supplies, a moving company transports them free to Yonkers, NY to a non profit that fills containers and ships them: (www.afyafoundation.org).
They are seeking mobility devices, tools, flashlights, batteries, clothing, toys, shoes, mattresses, pads, tents, tarps, school supplies, sleeping bags, baby bottles, diapers, wipes, rubber boots, raincoats, personal care items, sheets and blankets, insect repellant.
Deliver supplies to the porch of Amelia Cohn at 37 Gorham St. (off Hammond) in Cambridge anytime. The collection is ongoing; there is no deadline. For more information contact Pat Goudvis, co-clerk of the FSC (Ben in third grade and Natalia in sixth grade).

Countdown to CFS' 50th Anniversary
|
Cambridge Friends School
first opened its doors to students in September of 1961, which means that our
school's 50th anniversary is only a year and a half away!
Want to get involved
in preparing for this historic milestone? The Cambridge Friends School 50th
Anniversary Planning Committee is looking for volunteers to organize
celebratory events, work on research and outreach to alumni, collect and write
the history of the school, and make the anniversary meaningful to current
students and faculty through classroom coordination.
If you are interested in
helping CFS honor its history, contact 50th Anniversary Planning Committee clerk Jackie Horne (grade 6 Maddie Smith) via telephone or e-mail. |
