Ice Cream first place (tie)
By Ethan Grella

Ice cream
You are so
Cold when I take
A bite of you. The flavors
Dance around in my mouth
All the different tastes
All at once.

Books first place (tie)
By A.J. Bauer

Books are different universes.
Books catch you and gobble you up.
They are portals which you step in
and find yourself in a different realm,
the author's realm,
oblivious to all in reality.
A black hole to another kingdom.
Books are callers to another galaxy.
Books let you go to another part of Ygddrasil—the world tree.

The Sky first place (tie)
By Bella Cameron

The sky is a blanket
Covering the world,
Blue
With white blotches all over it,
And one yellow spot
With bright rays coming
From it.
The sky
Is wonderful.

I Might Blow Up second place (tie)
By Taylor Giuffre-Catalano

It is a
Hot day. I
Ask my
Friends
What they are playing.
They ignore me. I
Ask many more
Times. They still ignore me
Like they were watching TV.
I am so angry
My head might
Blow up!
It is almost the end of
Recess, and now it
Is the end. I
Wasted my time. I
Am even more
Angry, I feel like my
Face is burning up,
And now I am angry at
MYSELF!
